I have never cracked open a double yolk egg.
I recall when I was young my mum did and the excitement that came from that moment has stuck with me. Yesterday I baked chocolate ramekins for an easy desert for my sisters and I cracked open three eggs and TWO were double yolk! I suddenly cheered up and felt like this is a lucky day. Since doing this I opened more eggs from the same batch to make omelets and there was another double yolk!
P.S. If any one knows of a recipe for 3 - 5 egg yolks I would appreciate it - I hate to waste them!

I always thought it was lucky to get a double yolker! There is a lush recipe for Creamy Lemon Slice on Comfy and Cosy's blog...looks delish! http://comfycosy.blogspot.com/2008/06/

Growing up we always had chickens in our backyard and often had double-yolkers. It always was exciting though!
Think I have had it once...and we had chickens on the farm...but I guess my mum do remember this better than me...lol..
Good luck using them all up!!:o)
Sorry can't help you with the egg yolk recipes but just wanted to say how neat it was that you got 2 double-yolkers and you thought to take a picture of them! Cheers, QGB

Isn't that funny.......I had forgotten double yoke eggs I remember them from my youth, haven't seen one in ages.
A very lucky day indeed! I would make a baked egg custard or some lemon ice cream with those beauties. Yum!
ice cream........make a custard base using the yolks...you could follow my recipe as a guide on my sidebar ( mango and coconut)
I once had a dozen eggs all double yolks...all from the same carton.....could not believe it!!!LOL It is such a thrill!!!
When I was growing up we always had chickens and frequently got double yokers, but I've never had one in a bought box.
Ooh I used to collect the eggs when I visited my aunt's house, and it was such a thrill to get a double yoker! I went to a farmers market once where they were selling whole cartons of them.
Have you ever made ice-cream? If you can find a recipe which uses an egg-yolk custard base, that should take care of a few yolks!
BTW welcome to the Veg About! I've put you on the list in my sidebar, and if you'd like to add the Captain JAck Sparrowgrass button to your sidebar you can find it here: http://bellgirl.com.au/2008/11/veg-about-button.html
