Thank you and May BOM

First - a big Thank you to you lovely bloggers who have left such nice notes about my little one. We have been a family of four for nine years and I worry about how I can provide the needs of a little one with the growing and changing needs of my older boys (you know the sibling squabbles and school demands). I know it will all fall in place and we will be fine. I am rather excited about having a baby in our family again.

Gail Pans Designs next Christmas BOM is on her blog - as usual just gorgeous.

Here is my version...

I have also done the Country Calender BOM from Ellies Quiltplace. Still have not decided how I will finish the blocks - patterned - plain - what colour - to hard!

A picture

Today we had a double check to make sure the placenta had moved away - which it had. The U/S man was so kind and took this photo for me to take home.

This is our baby boy who is due end of next month. You are looking at a side view of his face - you can see (from right to left) the forehead, nose, lips and chin.

Jo's Gift

Dearest Jo made this just for me...

It has been booked for The Quilted Crow Gathering early next month to house my sewing goodies. Oh and so is my antique suitcase (Jo don't let me forget!).

We had a LOVELY Easter away and all returned feeling fresh and revived. Weather was perfect, dogs enjoyed the freedom and boys loved the beach. We had lots of chill out and nana naps. I did a bit of scrapbooking and stitching. If only it were longer...

Happy Easter

To my blog friends Happy Easter. Hope you all are having a lovely time during this break. We have gone away with the dogs staying right on the beach. It is going to be a break away and SLOW pace for 4.5 days. Just what we all need.

Easter Nests

We made these for the boys to take to school for Easter goodness. It is the first year I got my head around an idea, planned it and it eventuate in time! Basic cupcakes, jam dollop on top and then broken flake with easter MM eggs plonked on top. Easy and fun for the children to decorate.

Not stitching or quilting

I have managed to tackle a big portion of my stitching/quilting to do before June list... SO it is time to hit my scrapbooking. I have managed to get a few layouts done and am feeling good about my progress.

Enjoying cooking...

Harvesting an amazing amount of food like...

and these - made a big batch of tomato relish. Boys: 'Oh yum mum this is better than tomato sauce' - ahhhh I glowed in pride....

I hope you are feeling productive and enjoying the cooler weather...

Pekinese Stitch Tutorial

I have had people ask about this stitch... So thought I would do a tutorial. I would like to acknowlage The Quilted Crow Ladies who taught me this stitch.

Start with a back stitch... bring the needle up from the bottom right of the first stitch place your needle into the top of the second stitch and pull through...

Insert the needle from the bottom of the first stitch and pull through making sure the thread from the first step is under the needle. Pull through gently

Repeat the first step. Bring the needle up to the next stitch (ie the third back stitch in this sample) and from the top of that stitch place your needle through...

and continue to repeat the pattern of the stitch...

Here is the sample finished. I finish the end with doing the stitch to the last stitch again and set it by taking the thread under and tying it down.

Here is the stitch for the box I made

Hope that was clear and easy.
