You know how much you use your iron when you do fabric craft... (and iron). My last iron lasted 12 years this lasted 18 months. Now I am going to take him to the fix it man in hope it is simple. I wonder what he will make of my creative drawing?

Wow 18 months! I think my last iron only lasted about 6 months. Useless heaps of crap that are made these days!!

Mine died the other day too!! Mine was a garage sale find years ago, and so I guess I got my money's worth.
I know what you mean about the irons being useless these days. We have just bought another one after having the last for 17months, our new one does not do the shot of sream thingy that my hubby uses all the time. I am taking it back as we have only had it a few weeks.How frustrating! Things are not made to last these days.

My iron literally caught on fire last week so time to go! Then yesterday my hairdryer started spewing black rubber smelling smoke when I turned it on. It was only when going to buy a new one (because I CANNOT live without one) that I realised I bought my old one from my hairdresser when I was 18!!!! That's not bad is it, how many small appliances give you 22 years of almost daily service!
