A mum of 14,12 and 3 & 1/2 year old boys. Attempting daily to be a good mum, haggle with the grind, try to live with some sort of sustainable attitude and a good concoction of craft. Welcome
My favourite Quilt shop in Hobart is now selling Bamboo Wadding/Batting. It feels beautiful and I cannot wait to quilt my sons lap quilt with it. it is a sustainable product and it feels very nice. Has anyone else used this?
I have seen it advertised somewhere. Have wondered what it would be like to quilt. Sounds great being a sustainable product - very eco friendly. You will have to let us know what you think when you are quilting with it.
Hi Sarah, my SIL bought some of this and asked me if I knew anyone who had used it. I did the same axs you and asked on the blog and the comments I received were all really positive. Its such a lovely feel to it, so soft and so natural and lets the fabric breath wonderfully. Apparently its lovely to work with.
I used it recently on my daughter's quilt. The thing I found I didnt like about it was that it fluffed up something terrible while I was quilting so my sewing area ended up (and my completed quilt) looking like it had been snowing! I'm not sure I would use it again. Give it a go as I'd like to hear someone else's opinion. Rita
I've not used the bamboo batting, but my daughter has used bamboo fabric for nappies. It is more absorbant than cotton and also has natural anti-bacterial qualities. Another daughter spends her whole life being itchy which has ceased since we bought some bamboo underwear for her. It is so soft and we bought it from Woolies so paid a decent price for it!

HHmmm I've heard this stuff is highly flammable!
There was a review of it in Quilters Companion a couple of months ago if that's any help?
