Sheep lovin'

Just finished Shaun. He is such a cutie. Not sure what I will do with this just had to do it (are you guilty of this?). Go here for the pattern.




I have (woo hoo) finished cross stitching the Shepard's Bush Stocking for the Little Man. Do you know a good way to finish the stocking or will I have to think...hard?

Pillow peek

I have done the pillow for the swap and even better did mine as well.

I loved doing her - it was some idea that was floating in my head for a long time (see that to do list is l.o.n.g). Great it turned out better than I planned. Dont you love that.

ahh a change of scenery...

A break away from the happenings here. Just good. A farm B & B way out woop woop of NE Tasmania. No mobile reception, stars so bright, silence that was deafening and a fire that warmed your bones. Fresh chook eggs, home made bread and jam.

We managed to escape... you know how they say it is the journey and not the destination?

Mama vibes

What is it with mothers? This ma ma is emotional. My 10 year old is going camp tomorrow for two nights. I know I have posted about this before... but I thought I would be on this by now! AND to top it off the 12 year old is doing 'The Canberra Trip". He is going interstate - far far FAR away from me next week.

I am super sore from a heavy morning in the garden yesterday - you would not know I have been in there - dont you hate that.

PLUS I have a heap of friends who have just told me they are pregnant. Oh dont get me wrong lovies I am happy for them. It just stirs the old mummy strings here. I have three children. We have not halted the thought of a fourth but I dont feel ready. BUT there is all this wonderful pregnancy vibes radiating from them (hey lets be honest they feel crap) and I cannot shake this feeling sorry for myself feeling.

Hubby recons it is the" time of the month presh" - WRONG.

Any suggested cures readers?

A project complete!

This project has been around for a long time...



I made these blocks just before the little man was born (21 months ago). Finally got around to start stitching in September last year.



It is a Kerry Gillespie design "Snowball Season". It will be hung in the Little Mans room - well that is the plan...

Der ner ner ner (jaws)

Do you have any idea how easy it is to take a picture of a sharky? This one is particularly dangerous. He can produce a mess with a good swipe of his appendages, move at great speed and inflict serious mayhem!

Japan

Like many of us in blog land, we are all dealing with another LARGE tragedy.

It is breaking my heart. We have had enough.

There is many ways we can try to help.

Okay we can donate money to Red Cross Japan and Pacific Disaster Appeal 2011.

I can make some softies for the children in Japan. Something for them to hold on to and find some comfort in this difficult time.

We could also auction/raffle items for the Japan Quake Appeal. Some amazing stuff being offered! I am still sifting through it all.

I just wish there is a better more tangible thing I can do.

Today

I have finished stitching and tacking together this quilt. I need to decide how I will quilt it. It has been a l.o.n.g project so I am pleased to have made decent progress for a change.



I have also finished the hexagon quilt (hexagons swapped regularly from my Tuesday Stitching Group). This is heading to The Quilted Crows for quilting. Some tight quilting to ensure my hand work does not fall apart! Again so nice to have made some progress with this as well. Binding next and you know how much I lurve binding (not).



Ah now I can get on to this project. The beginnings of The Little Mans Shepard's Bush Stocking. I find cross stitching slow. So I am hoping by starting now I WILL have it finished for Christmas.
