Aussie Spirit Block

I have received my Aussie Spirit Block run by Helen from Hugs 'n Kisses. Helen has organised volunteers who will stitch up blocks which will be assembled and quilted to raise money for the QLD disasters. What a GREAT way to assist. Thanks Helen for organising such a huge project - i believe there is several quilts in the making! Aussie Aussie Aussie - oi oi oi

and I did...

I have been wanting to learn how to crochet for y.e.a.r.s and today I went to The Craft Hive and did - finally. Thanks so much Beth - you were an ace teacher.

End of Holidays

I am relieved. I am starting to feel a bit burned out with all the demands and activities to fill their days. Though I have really enjoyed having them around. It feels normal. Have a good day back at school today guys - not sure who will miss you more - me or the little man....

Chocolate Mousse - the french way

I am not sure if I prefer the 'French way' (no cream). Think I will go back to the old favourite.

White on Red

There is just something about white on red. Just love it. I am stitching something for a special persons birthday. Starting to really like it. Lucky them.

End of season raspberries

They have been delicious. A good way to fill in an afternoon. A drive down, picking, laughing, eating and high fiving. Perfect dessert - raspberries and home made ice cream.

In the mist of this beautiful day I have been very distracted with Yasi and flood victims. A bit speechless about it actually.

Boy Craft

Lego meets french knitting. Perfect. Middle Boy has been stitching. Not sure what he plans to do with this. Don't care - love just having him by my side still and chatty.

Can you stitch a block for a cause?

Please pop over to Helens blog at Hugs' n Kisses who has a great offer to help towards the flood victims. She has asked for people to stitch a block from her new pattern The Great Aussie Spirit which will eventually end up as a complete quilt to auction to raise money. Head over for the details.

Can you believe it

Check the icon on the right.

Look how much the total tally raised.

Every little bit added up to this HUGE FIGURE.

As said over and over Toni and her crew - simple words with BIG meaning - Well done. You - we all contributed to that big dent being raised to help the flood victims recover.

Now it is time for recovery - it will be long but the Australian spirit will ride all through!
