Bunting love...

My first 2012 finish peoples! Pre printed bunting panels I ordered from Dance in My Garden. I was lucky to get a set early... Contact lovely Luisa if you want a set - they are so yummy she has not even needed to put them on site! So quick and dead easy to make up! Nice and cheery and bright and make me smile stuff.

Guess what has arrived?

Yup - it has arrived.

Building project this coming week for the teen boy.

Three lovely chooklets being picked up from dear Tanya up north at the end of the month . They have been named already people. Mable, Gladdis and Betty. Perfect ha?

Only boys would suggest calling them breast, leg and thigh... seriously people where did I get the parenting wrong?!

a ha! and you thought you knew it all

No ladies (oh and men if you read this) logic does not rule when it comes to quilting. HA even if you thought you knew it all and could master any block. It will bite you. No matter how much you fight it and wrangle the bugger - it will not work.

At least there are nice bloogy people out there who come to your rescue and listen to your woes and serve you internet chocolate.

Thank you ever so much Vickie who kindly sent me a step by step picture email of how to do my troubled section. I was gob smacked she went into this trouble for me. The beauty of blog friends! The secret was clipping a 1/4" of the ends!

Here is the block...

1800 QUILT HELP!

I am working on week 4 of Barbara Brackman's Civil War Quilt.

I, for the life of me cannot work out what I am doing wrong.

HELP!

The section I am having trouble with is the side triangles...

The instructions are:

Cute 1 light and 2 medium squares 3-7/8". Cur each into 4 triangles with two cuts. You need 4 light and 8 medium triangles.

I cut them as instructed... measuresments trippled checked.

Then I sewed one side on...

Then I sewed the other...

The problem is when I sew it to the main black I lose my corner.

So I need to sew the smaller triangles together a different way so I dont lose the corner.

How do I do this?

Thank you to who ever relieves me of quilt hysteria...
